Mary Jane Della Vecchia passed on June 3, 2026, at the age of 67. She was born Mary Jane Adamsky and came into this world August 4th 1958 in Queens, NY. She was named after the blessed mother and she was a devout Catholic her entire life. She didn’t just pray the rosary, she also made them as a craft and shared her faith openly. She loved the music of the 50’s, and she was moved by the passion and love in the songs of that era, especially doo-wop. She played the guitar and ukulele and had a beautiful singing voice. Her favorite flowers were pansies, tulips, daffodils and hydrangeas and her favorite color was deep ocean blue. As a career nurse, she spent her entire life helping others. Mary Jane had a special way of viewing the world, and God’s creations truly came to life in her eyes. Her last fourteen years were spent with her life partner, Perry Hewlett. She is survived by her two sons Matthew and Thomas Dellavecchia; and a brother, Walter Adamsky.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on June 10, 2026, at Basilica of St. Mary in Wilmington, NC.
