Mary Louise Daughtery Blake, 73, died at New Hanover Medical Center in Wilmington, NC, on Friday, October 23, 2015 while holding the hands of her daughter and one of her grandsons. She was born September 23, 1942 in Wilmington, NC to the late Edward and Gladys Creech Daughtery. A loving mother and grandmother, Mary Louise was also passionate about dogs. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a nonjudgmental love for others. People were drawn by her charming, innocent, forgiving spirit. Mary Louise is survived by her daughter, Deborah Blake (Carlton, Jr.) Clark; grandsons Blake and Nathan of Hampstead, NC; and her brother Robert "Bobby" (Vicki) Daughtery of Wilmington, NC. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1311 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington, NC. The family will receive friends at 4:30 p.m. at the residence of Robert and Vicki Daughtery, 5912 Downrigger Drive, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC, 28401.
