

Mary Elizabeth Moore Muller, Mary Lib to most of her many, many friends and admirers died Sunday, June 28, 2015 at The Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center surrounded by some of her most loving and caring friends and adopted family. She was born on August 23, 1916 to her parents, Claude Staley Moore and Annie M. Lowrance Moore in Richmond, Virginia. She was married to Albert G. Muller who preceded her in death in 2003 and they had one son, David Christian Muller, who died in 2012. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Sarah LaFan of Chicago, Illinois. During her long and productive life Mary Lib was a substance abuse counselor in Dallas, Texas. She touched and loved many people from all walks of life. Mary Lib was known for the twinkle in her very blue eyes and the brightest of all smiles that went from ear to ear. Her sense of humor and laugh were contagious. She never met a stranger and many folks were drawn to her by her aura and love of people. Mary Lib was active in the Recovery Community in Miami, Florida, Dallas, Texas, Greensboro, North Carolina and Wilmington for over forty eight years and she helped and nurtured many men and women who were trudging the road of happy destiny. She was very grateful for all the love and attention she received from her recovery family during her later years. Mary Lib will be missed by many people whose lives she helped to make better by just being Mary Lib. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, July 11, 2015 at St. James Episcopal Church. Interment will follow in the St. Francis Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
