Mary Lee Purcell

She was predeceased by her parents, Jerry and Mildred Lee, and her husband, Donald Purcell. She is survived by her children, Donna Purcell Mayes (James) and Jeff Purcell (Mary); her siblings, Leslie Lee (Dottie), Christine Wood (Sam), Jeanette Blake (Bobby), and Kenneth Lee (Brenda), and several nieces and nephews.

As an Army wife, Mary lived around the world, including France and Japan, where she climbed Mount Fuji. In Virginia, she worked as an office manager for an oral surgery practice and a real estate agent. She volunteered as a Girl Scout leader, swimming instructor, and thrift store worker.

The family thanks Right at Home Wilmington staff and caregivers for their exceptionally loving, devoted care of Mary.

A funeral service will be held Friday, September 15, 2017 at Blake’s Chapel Advent Christian Church, starting at 2:00 p.m., preceded by visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held in the church cemetery.
