Melissa Renee Horne-Post

Melissa was born in Wilmington, NC on October 8, 1972. She was preceded in death by her sister, Shelly Marie Horne.

Melissa loved music, reading, crafts, cycling, horseback riding, pets(especially rescues) spending time with her family including her church family at Seaside Christian Fellowship. She had a passion and gift for helping people in need and was Loved by everyone she met.

Melissa is survived by her husband, Edward H. Post of Calabash, NC; father, David T. Horne of Theodore, AL; mother, Debra Potter Horne of Wilmington, NC; grandmother, Daisy Potter of Wilmington, NC; sons: Alex Roberts of Los Angeles, CA, Aaron Thigpen of Bethel, NC and Ethan Thigpen of San Clemente, CA; brother, Thomas Horne of Wilmington, NC; son-in-love, Evan Smith of Los Angeles, CA; stepdaughter, Jennifer Crabtree with her husband Marc and granddaughter, Annabeth; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Graveside Service will be held at 1:00pm on December 4, 2021 at Horne Cemetery, on Antoinette Drive and near the intersection of Carolina Beach Road. Following will be a Gathering of Family and Friends at 109 Spartan Road, Wilmington, NC 28405.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seaside Christian Fellowship, 519 Seaside Road SW, Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469 or to a charity or animal rescue of your choice.
