He is survived by his father Harold Smith of the home, his mother Rebecca Heustess Rooks and husband Terry of Watha, North Carolina; his sister Shannon Smith Russell and husband Tim Russell of Carolina Beach, North Carolina; his son Caleb and mother; nephew, Peyton Grizzle and girlfriend, Haleigh Paisleigh and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Michael was an avid sports fan. His favorite being the Carolina Tarheels.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Beach Community Church, 5 N. 4th Street, Carolina Beach, North Carolina 28428 with Pastor Tim Russell officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
