Mildred was born on September 2, 1917 in Wilmington, N.C. and lived all her life in the Seagate community. Mildred was a lifelong dedicated member of the Seagate Baptist Church. She retired from Williams Cleaners after 30 years of service. She was an active member of the Daughters of America for over 50 years.
Mildred was the daughter of the late Wilson Robert (Wink) Rogers and Martha Jane Sneeden Rogers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Minor Cranmer Bishop, Sr. and her brother, Linwood Wilson Rogers.
Surviving are a son, Minor Cranmer Bishop, Jr., and his wife Faye of Wilmington; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a niece, Janet Rogers Meyland, and a nephew, Linwood “Lin” Rogers, Jr., along with many special friends and step-sisters all of whom she dearly loved.
Mildred was truly a lady of Sterling character and will be missed so very much by all who knew her. The Family wishes to thank those that made her last days brighter.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Seagate Baptist Church with Rev. Dondi Pace officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Seagate Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Seagate Cemetery.
