Nancy Cavenaugh Martin

Nancy Cavenaugh Martin, 80, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully Monday, September 5, 2023.  

Nancy was born on August 11, 1943 to the late Thomas Franklin Cavenaugh Sr and Gladys Mobley Cavenaugh.  She was the oldest daughter and is survived by four younger brothers, Tommy Cavenaugh (Janice), Bruce Cavenaugh (Alice), Jeff Cavenaugh (Barbara), and Gary Cavenaugh (Carlita) all of Wilmington, NC.

Nancy is survived by her daughters, Beverly Elm Boyette (Jay) of Raleigh, NC, Laurie Elm Taylor (Jay) of Columbia, SC, and Nissa Elm Crayton (Mike) of San Diego, CA.  She has 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews that she adored, and they adored her.

Nancy was the Administrator of Greenlawn Memorial Park in Wilmington, NC for many years and was married to the love of her life, John R Martin.  They enjoyed traveling to New Orleans and Las Vegas and working in their beautiful yard.  Her favorite things in life besides her three girls were Willie Nelson and Diet Coke.  

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Monday, September 11, 2023, at Andrews Mortuary, 1617 Market Street, Wilmington, NC.  The family will receive friends from 1 pm – 2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.  

Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Donate Life South Carolina or Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
