Norwood Eddie Watson

Norwood Watson died in Wilmington, NC at Davis Health Care Center on Sunday, December 12, 2010 with family at his bedside. He was born in Maco, NC on January 3, 1926.

He was preceded in death by his youngest son, L.D. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Frankie-Mae; son Johnnie (John) and wife Sylvia of Hampstead, NC, daughter Becky Vinson and son-inlaw Lonnie; Four grand-children; Kristen and Laura Watson, Elizabeth and Michael Vinson, and two great-grandchildren; Hailey and Jeremiah. Norwood worked at E.W. Godwin and Sons for many years until becoming self employed as a Master Carpenter. He was a WWII Veteran, serving proudly in the US Navy from 1944-1946. Our dad never met a stranger.

Visitation will be at Coble-Ward Smith Funeral Service on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Wilmington First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Serving as pallbearerse are Mark Barnhill, Chris Barnhill, Michael Vinson, Keith Walker, Lonnie Vinson, and Guy Prosper. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Davis Health Care Center, 1011 Porters Neck Road, Wilmington, NC 28411.
