Pamelia Rae Gore

Pamelia “Pam” Jackson Gore, 84, of Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026, while in hospice care following a courageous journey with dementia. Born in Wilmington on August 9, 1942, Pam was the daughter of the late James L. Jackson and Sudie Vernon Jackson.

Pam was a woman of remarkable strength, determination, and independence. She approached life with resolve and conviction, yet beneath her strong spirit was a generous and loving heart. She was deeply devoted to those she loved and treasured the relationships she built throughout her life.

Above all, Pam was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her family was the center of her life, and she took great pride in her children and grandchildren. She was also a loving sister and a loyal friend whose friendships were marked by sincerity, devotion, and lasting affection.

Pam enjoyed a long and distinguished career in the mortgage industry. She began her career with Cameron Brown and later retired from Wells Fargo after many years of dedicated service. Throughout her professional life, Pam earned the respect of her colleagues and developed many meaningful relationships. She was especially grateful for the many coworkers who became dear and lifelong friends, friendships she continued to cherish well beyond her retirement.

Those who knew Pam will remember her for her strength, resilience, loyalty, and unmistakable presence. Although dementia changed aspects of her life in her later years, it could never diminish the legacy she created or the love and memories she leaves with her family and friends.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, James L. Jackson and Sudie Vernon Jackson, and her brothers-in-law, Don DeWitt and Harold Mincey, and her companion, Luther "Bill" Taylor.

She is survived by her sisters, Linda DeWitt, Cindy Mincey, and Jackie Radka; her son, Jeffrey Gore and his wife, Kelly, and her daughter Jennifer Wirt and her husband, Matt; and her beloved grandchildren, Elijah, Tucker, Chrissy, and Harrison and a great-granddaughter, Macy. Pam also leaves behind several cousins, a niece and many nephews.

Pam leaves behind a legacy of strength, devotion, perseverance, and, above all, love. Her family will remember the many years and memories they were blessed to share with her—the laughter, the lessons, the traditions, and the countless moments that together made a life well lived.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of those who loved her.
