

She was born February 1st, 1944, the daughter of the late Charles and Myrtle Braxton, and grew up in a loving family with her three sisters, Kay Chalk, Deborah Loehr, and Robin Turner.
Pat was a magna cum laude graduate of UNC-Greensboro, with a Bachelor of Arts in History. She was a devoted teacher in the Burlington city schools for 20 years.
She was an active member of Front Street United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, Chair of the Methodist Women, and the Altar Guild. Pat was a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Alamance County Historical Museum and past Chair of the Museum Docent Committee. Pat also co-founded the Bookwomen Book Club and served with the Friends of the Library and was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an avid reader, loved books, art, and travel.
Most importantly, she was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother to her wonderful family. She is survived by her husband of 60 years Jimmy H. Joyner; sons Jimmy H. Joyner Jr. (Tonya) of Elon, Jeffrey C. Joyner (Amanda) of Wilmington; Jonathan P. Joyner (Laura) of Wilmington and 6 grandchildren: William, Ethan, Thomas, Parker, Emma Kate, and Jayleigh.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Andrews Valley Chapel. The family will greet friends beginning at 10:30 am. Pat will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends.
