Patty Seitter

Patty was born November 30, 1929, just days after the stock market crash of Black Friday. While the world was reeling from the economic disaster happening around them, Emory and Gertrude Southerland were joyfully welcoming their beautiful baby girl. Although she was born in Fayetteville, NC, Patty moved with her parents to Wilmington when she was four years old. Patty always considered herself a “beach girl”, living most of her life in either Wilmington or Wrightsville Beach.

Patty was a graduate of New Hanover High School where she was an ROTC sponsor and cheerleader. She also attended Flora MacDonald College in Red Springs, NC. Patty was a lifelong committed Christian and was a charter member of St. Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church. Later in life she became an active member of Little Chapel on the Boardwalk.

Patty was preceded in death by her husband Dellmer Seitter. She passes on her legacy of hospitality and love to her children Nancy Cramer (Mark), Jim Baldwin (ENan), Tripp Seitter (Jenny), Margaret Seitter and to her eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service to celebrate Patty’s life will be held at 2:00 on Sunday, September 20, at Oleander Memorial Gardens, 306 Bradley Drive in Wilmington. The family requests that memorial gifts be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
