Our precious gift from God, Paul Conroy Parker, Jr., 25, of Wilmington, NC, was returned to Heaven on June 27, 2022. Paul left this Earth, knowing whole heartedly, he was going to find his peace, hope and comfort, reuniting with God and his much beloved predeceased Grandparents Georgia and Bill Joyner of Wilmington NC and Judy and Ben Parker of Louisville KY, his dear friends Thomas and William, and beloved dog Tater. It gives us so much reassurance and comfort knowing Paul has finally found his peace.
Paul is survived by his Mom and Dad, Elizabeth “Betsy” Joyner Parker and Paul Conroy Parker of Wilmington and his three siblings: Georgia Borden Parker, Lillian Geiger Parker, and William Joyner Parker. His cousins: Henry, Patrick, and Eliza Joyner; Julia and John Long; Michael, Hannah, and Ian Parker; Jordan and Sarah Grace Parker; Dant, Stout, and Taft Parker; His aunts and uncles: Jenny and Will Joyner of Charlotte, Mildred and Patrick Long of Chapel Hill, N.C., Ben and Dana Parker of Hilton Head, S.C, Phil and Susan Parker of Jupiter, FL, Michael and Tassie Parker of Louisville. He is also survived by many more special family members and friends.
Born December 10th, 1996 in Charlotte, N.C., Paul and his family lived in Atlanta for 8 years before moving to Wilmington, NC, where he attended Williston Middle School. Paul graduated from Woodberry Forest School in 2016 and attended Sewanee: The University of the South where he studied Philosophy.
Paul had wonderful experiences at Camp Seagull, Woodberry Forest Sports Camps, and he especially loved his Moondance Adventure of hiking up Mount Kilimanjaro. As a volunteer on this trip, he became enchanted with the youth community, who showed him the way of having fun and a big life without having much. His beach time with his siblings and cousins growing up and then recently with his best friend Luke at Wrightsville Beach were highlights in his life.
We lovingly invite you to celebrate Paul’s life at St. James Parish, Wilmington, NC at 11 am Saturday, July 9th with a casual cookout reception for all to follow.
You can share a tribute to Paul at CaringBridge as well.
In lieu of flowers, a gift to St. James Parish, an animal shelter, or a homeless shelter of your choice would be “awesome” as Paul would say.
