Peggy A Shepherd

With hearts full of love and gratitude for a well-lived life, we announce the passing of Peggy Ann Shepherd who went to heaven on October 10, 2025 at the age of 66.

Peggy was a devoted parent, grandparent, wife, sibling & friend whose life was a testament to faith & family. Born on May 13th, 1959 in Huntington, WV to James and Carol Richardson, she grew up with a strong foundation of love that guided her throughout life’s journey.

If you came in contact with Peggy, you surely felt better after your encounter. She had a way of making everything ok and was always able to find laughter when it was most needed. She was truly a beautiful person inside and out. People gravitated to her as a safety place and place of peace. You knew you were loved when you were around Peggy.

Though we grieve the loss of Peggy, we take comfort in knowing she is at peace, reunited with loved ones, and embraced by the eternal love of God.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Brian Shepherd, daughters Hannah Smith (Lukas) and Rachel Filer (Jeff), grandchildren Clara, Mac & Marshall Smith and Evan & Vera Filer, brothers Mike Richardson and Jim Richardson. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Carol Richardson, and her beloved son, Luke Hawkins.

A Celebration of Peggy's life will be held from 2-4pm on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at Smoke on the Water. WHITE ATTIRE IN HONOR OF PEGGY'S FAVORITE COLOR.
