Phyllis Moore Ryan

Phyllis Moore Ryan, 65, of Wilmington died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Clare Bridge of Wilmington. Phyllis was born on December 7, 1946 in Montclair, NJ to the late Walter Madison Moore and Frances Ray Moore. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years Michael F. Ryan; her children Timothy Ryan of Austin TX and daughter Christine Farrell Barry of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren Ellie Farrell and Noah Farrell both of Wilmington, NC; and a sister Linda Leathers John of Brewster, MA. Phyllis graduated from Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio and taught high school English at Mascoma Valley High School NH and Brown County High School IN. She was a member of PEO Sisterhood, Columbus Service League, League of Women Voters, Whip-poor-will Garden Club, Indianapolis Symphony Women's Committee and Sycamore Land Trust. Phyllis enjoyed traveling throughout the world with her husband, golfing, reading, needlepoint and most of all caring for her grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2012 at St. Andrew's On-the-sound Episcopal Church with The Rev. Richard G. Elliott officiating.
