Plina Lee Ritter Fountain

Plina Lee Ritter Fountain, 97, of Wilmington, NC, died Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at Wilmington Health and Rehabilitation. She was born on September 2, 1916, the daughter of the late Joseph T. Ritter and Lula Seiter Ritter. Also remembered is her husband Elmo Griffith Fountain; a daughter Sylvia Logan of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a sister, Helen Ritter Burton; and a brother, Andrew Ritter, both of Wilmington, all of whom preceded her in death. Mrs. Fountain was the last surviving member for her generation of the Joseph T. Ritter and Willie G. Fountain families. Mrs. Fountain was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church and the Wrightsboro Women's Club. Surviving are three children, Ray Fountain and wife Suzanne of Leland, NC, Griff Fountain and wife Linda of Winter Haven, FL, and Janet Petty of Maine; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday, January 3, 2013 at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. Interment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
