Rachel Elease Thompson, 94, passed away on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2022 surrounded by her family.Rachel was born September 21,1928 in Wayne County N.C. and was the daughter of the late John Henry Holland and Martha Watson Holland.A service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, November 26th, 2022 at Andrews Funeral Home (Market Street) with visitation at 1:00 and service at 2:00. Internment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.Rachel is survived by two sons, Dennison Thompson (Linda), Jeffrey (Ann), four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and a new arrival coming in February (Savanna Rachel). She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Durwood Thompson, four sisters, three brothers and a granddaughter.Rachel lived in Wilmington seventy-two years. She worked and retired from Century Mills over thirty years ( and loved every minute of it )she always said.Her passions were working in her yard and her family.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
