Rachel Lee Willis

Rachel Lee Willis, 81, of Wilmington and Morehead City, passed away on July 3, 2009, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center. Rachel was born on January 7, 1928, in Morehead City, to the late Esmond and Dora Brock. She was a loving mother and grandmother who had many outdoor hobbies, including tending to her garden and fishing from her boat. She was a member of Oleander United Methodist Church and found much enjoyment watching the attendance grow. She was a talented handworker who found joy in quilting. She also enjoyed playing bridge and poker nights with her friends. Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, Graydon Bell Willis. She is survived by three children; Graydon Bell Willis, Jr and wife Mandy of Folly Beach, SC, Jill Tootoo and husband Melvin of Wilmington, NC and Jan L. Willis and husband Jerry Murphy of Morehead City, NC; four grandchildren, Holly Beth Tootoo, Daniel Brock Tootoo, Gray B. Willis III and Evan Brock Willis; one sister, Daisy B. Casey of Morehead City and two sisters-in-law, Catherine Styron and Kitty Willis, both of Morehead City. A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm, Sunday, July 5, 2009, at Oleander United Methodist Church, in Wilmington. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the church. Another visitation will be held from 2-3:00pm, Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City. Burial will take place at 3:30pm, Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at Bayview Cemetery, Morehead City.
