The immediate family will have a private ceremony officiated by Pastor Matthew Griffin of Livingston Baptist Church.
Ray was born in Wilmington, NC on April 8, 1944. He was a graduate of New Hanover High School and was a veteran of the US Army Reserve.
Ray enjoyed shag dancing to classic oldies and was an avid fan of the UNC Tarheels and the Carolina Panthers. He enjoyed his retirement by spending time on his deck feeding squirrels, tending to his palm tree, and taking care of his beloved cat "Rusty".
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Brown, his step-father, William Vaughn and mother, Grace (Lib) Vaughn.
Ray is survived by his daughter, Amanda Brinson, her husband, Matt, and his two grandchildren, Grant and Grace; his brother, Billy Dean Vaughn, and wife Judy Vaughn, his niece, Amber Vaughn, and his nephew, Billy Vaughn II and his wife Jenny Vaughn.
