Rebecca Robinson Clark

Rebecca Robinson Clark, age 67, passed away peacefully in hospice care in Wilmington, NC from an untreatable cancer-related bowel obstruction. She was preceded in death by her father John Robinson of Hallsboro NC. She is survived by her husband Kendell Clark of Wilmington NC; her mother Alma Robinson of Hallsboro NC; her brother William Robinson of Los Angeles CA, his wife Brenda, and Rebecca’s nieces Chelsea and Miranda Robinson.

Rebecca’s family held a treasured place in her heart; it was obvious in how she served her mother; how much she looked forward to conversations with her brother’s family in LA; and through her interactions with uncles, aunts, cousins and extended family throughout the local area and elsewhere. She loved her husband deeply and was a devoted, respectful partner. Rebecca’s mother remembers her as always being “a good daughter who never gave her any trouble growing up” which reflected the character she carried throughout her life.

Rebecca was a devoted member of the Greater Wilmington Church which she and her husband moved to Wilmington to help plant in 2012. Her daily life reflected her love for God, His Word, family, and others. She consistently carried a caring, nurturing aura, and her faith was noted by how she treated and served others. She was well known for her “Rebecca Clark hugs”. Rebecca forged countless lifelong, exceptional relationships that provided unspoken, unparalleled love and support throughout the changing seasons of her life. She had a way of investing in people that made her relationships last. While Rebecca expressed her longing to carry her own child, she and her husband were able to provide foster care, and she was a true-mother to so many that she came in touch with.

As a National Board-Certified teacher, Rebecca’s accomplishments were too many to mention including “NCAAHPERD Teacher of the Year on two separate occasions; Wake County High School Physical Education Teacher of the Year; New Hanover Middle School Teacher of the Year; 33rd Women of Achievement by the Lower Cape Fear YWCA”. Rebecca was driven by a passionate heart for the underprivileged and needy in the community while she could be tough, when needed. She eagerly desired to help, teach, encourage, and empower others in impactful ways.

Rebecca’s love for music was obvious to all who knew her. It was an outlet that brought her and others great joy and comfort while being an expression of her worship. Her devotion and faith gave her the strength to continue serving even in the final weeks of her life. Her circumstances rarely diminished her desire to love, encourage, and serve.
