Rebecca Ann Mc Gee

Rebecca (Becky) Keith McGee, 86, of Castle Hayne, NC passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She was born on November 14, 1939, in Pender County to Walter Barnes Keith and Geneva Smith Keith.

In addition to her parents, Becky was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Thomas Keyes McGee, Sr. and her siblings Lurline Humphrey, Edgar Keith, Robert (Bobby) Keith, Relmer Keith and Eunice Hines.

Becky is survived by her children, Thomas Keyes McGee, Jr., of Castle Hayne; Rebecca Kay McGee-Lankford and her husband Keith, of Durham; and Linda Caroline McGee, of Castle Hayne. Her grandson Marcus Lankford, Mayport Naval Station, Jacksonville, FL; and by her brothers Walter Eugene Keith and James Keith, of Wilmington, NC.

Becky grew up in the close-knit Riley's Creek Community in Rocky Point where she attended Riley's Creek Baptist Church until her marriage. She then became a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church for 67 years. She graduated from Long Creek Grady High School and started working for Southern Bell Telephone Company until the birth of her first child. She worked alongside her husband for 30 years as co-owners of McGee’s Greenhouses.

Becky loved to travel throughout the US. and Canada, visiting numerous National Parks. She also enjoyed camping in the North Carolina mountains and spending time with family and friends.

A visitation will be held Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM, with a funeral service at 1:00 PM at the Bethany Presbyterian Church, 2237 Castle Hayne Rd., Wilmington, NC 28401. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in Becky’s name, to Bethany Presbyterian Church, 2237 Castle Hayne Rd, Wilmington, NC 28401.”
