

Rex was born in Brunswick County, North Carolina, in 1933, the son of Jesse and Bertha Little. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beverly Little, and his daughter, Sheryl Lynn Little.
Rex attended East Carolina University, where he studied business, before proudly serving his country in the United States Navy. He served honorably until 1957.
Following his military service, Rex built a successful 37-year career as a stock broker with Vaughan & Co., Wheat First Securities, and Wheat First Butcher & Singer. Throughout his career, he was recognized for many accomplishments and attributes within his company and retired with the title of Vice President.
While Rex valued his professional success, his favorite place in the world was his farm. He loved spending time there, surrounded by nature and the peace it brought him.
He was also a longtime and faithful member of Pine Valley Baptist Church in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Rex will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, his strong work ethic, and the quiet strength and values he carried throughout his life.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda McCuskey; his grandson, Gavin McCuskey and wife; and one great-grandson.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Pine Valley Baptist Church, 3940 Shipyard Boulevard, Wilmington, North Carolina 28403 with funeral services beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Burial services will follow for family members at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and caregivers who showed such kindness and compassion during his illness.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Hospice.
The family also extends their gratitude for the love, prayers, and support shown during this time.
