Richard Stephen Todd, Sr.

He was born in Hamlet, NC to the late Earl F. Todd, Sr. and Gloria Godfrey Todd. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Earl F. Todd Jr. and Drew Baby Todd, niece Leslie Todd and nephew Dax Todd.

Richard was a loving father to Richard Todd Jr. (Teresa), Victoria Lacivita and Sara Gurkin (Michael), and grandchildren, Richard III, Cameron, Kirick, Lira, and Vanna. He is also survived by brothers, Walter Todd and Chris Todd, and his companion of 24 years, Carolyn Tew.

He lived most of his life in Wilmington, NC, but was also fortunate to spend time all over the US while traveling to work on hydroelectric dams. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, cooking seafood, teaching you how to do something, and telling stories of his youth and later travels.

The family will receive friends from 3pm until 4pm Friday, August 30, 2024, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 South College Road, followed by a memorial service at 4pm. 

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to a children’s charity such as the local abikeforeverychild.org. Richard enjoyed donating new children’s bikes to charity every year at Christmas, and his children plan to continue his tradition.
