Robert Richmond Ferguson, III, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 17, 2023, at home surrounded by his wife, Florence, and family by his side. Born in 1949 in Orange NJ, he was the son of Robert Richmond Ferguson II and Betty King Ferguson.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Florence; daughters, Meggan Lawson (Morgan) and Kaitlin Mozingo (Jesse); four grandchildren; a brother, James Ferguson (Barbara); and nephews, Christopher Ferguson (Shannon) and Jonothan Ferguson (Ashley).
Bob was a graduate of Lehigh University. He was an influential leader in the airline industry. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer and President of Continental Airlines, 1990-1994, and Chief Executive Officer, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Midway Airlines, 1997-2003.
A Celebration of Life will be held privately with family members.
