Robert Joseph Hooker Jr.

Robert Joseph Hooker Jr. age 89 went peacefully to be with the lord on April 8, 2016 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice. He was born in Goldsboro, NC on December 17, 1926 to Robert and Selma Hooker who preceded him in death. He worked for Carolina Power and Light Company for 37 years.

Robert is survived by his wife of 47 years Carolyn Bowie Hooker and his children Mark Hooker, Cheryl Wortham, Thomas Cole, Susan Hooker, Graham Cole, Lisa Bedson, son-in-law James Bedson and step-son Ben Horne. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and his faithful companion Gabbie.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on Tuesday April 12, 2016 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Sam Zumwalt officiating. A reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice or St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church youth fund.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Lower Cape Fear Hospice for the exceptional care they provided to him and his family. A special thank you for the loving care provided by his Hospice home care team Beth, Tamika and Jean.
