Robert Holmes St. John

Robert Holmes St.John, 81, of Leland, passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Born May 20, 1932 in Birmingham, Alabama. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Elsie St.John, brother, Alton St.John, and daughter, Laura Robertson. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Wilma Lewis St.John; three daughters, Karen Claypool (Tom), Linda Hitt (David), Elizabeth St.John, and son-in-law, Roger Robertson; sisters, Jean Fowlkes and Martha Palmer (Gene). He is also survived by six stepchildren, three grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Robert retired from the U.S. Navy after 25 years of service. He continued to love his country with patriotism through his final days. A celebration of life service will be held at Calvary Chapel of Wilmington, 2831 Carolina Beach Road, Wilmington, NC 28412, on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at 3pm with Pastors Clay Ritter and Jim Glasgow officiating.
