Robert Dean Stanley Sr.

Mr. Stanley was born April 21, 1938 in Myrtle Beach, SC, the son of the late Elisha Maryland Stanley and Annie Blanche Johnson Stanley. He was a veteran of the US Army Reserve and was a member of Wrightsboro Baptist Church. Mr. Stanley worked his entire life in the landscaping business. He was the owner and operator of Robert D. Stanley Landscaping Co., Inc., which has been in business since 1946. His proudest moments were spent with his family. A true outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, and gardening. He always grew enough vegetables to share with friends and neighbors. Mr. Stanley was preceded in death by his first wife Nancy Marie Hobbs Stanley.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Stanley, a son, Robert Dean Stanley, Jr. and wife Lucrecia of Burgaw; three daughters, Kim Siebert and husband Eric of Burgaw, Renee Bass and husband Jimmy of Castle Hayne, and Allyson Lawrence of Holly Springs; two step-daughters, Terri Champion and husband Robbie of Conway, SC and Dawn Ames and wife Connie of Wilmington; brothers, Joseph Bridger of Mobile, AL and Frank Stanley and wife Sammie of North Charleston, SC; a sister, Edith Jobe of Mobile, AL; ten grandchildren, Missy, Mandy, Heather, Tony, Will, Lauren, Brett, Cole, Kristina, and Dylan; eleven great-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Jane Porter.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday evening at Coble Ward – Smith Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Mike Lewis officiating.
