Rodney Thomas Pearson

Rodney was born July 22, 1952 to Rodney Madison Pearson, and the late Esther Register. He had two children that were the light of his life, Elisabeth Pearson Garner and James Rodney Pearson. He had one son in law, Gregory Scott Garner. Rodney's brothers and sisters are Greg Pearson, Steve Register, Shane Register, John Register , Suzie Register Shepard, Brad Pearson, Beth Pearson Moore, Bracey Pearson Kinnamon, Brent Pearson and Brenna Pearson Wallace. Rodney attended Hoggard High School and graduated from Cape Fear Community College with an Associate's Degree in Applied Marine Science. He worked for more than twenty years for Mrs. Lucille Whedbee at Wilmington Hospital Supply Co. Rodney truly had a second family in his coworkers there. He was also a licensed Real Estate Broker and held his GRI Graduate of the REALTORS Institute designation. He was a real estate agent with Laney Real Estate Co. Rodney loved music, especially the Beatles. His canine companions were a Jack Russell Terrier, Nutty Buddy and a Rat Terrier, Woody. He loved the mountains, Disney World and Key West. He had a special friendship with Bruce Bronson and Tanya Wildman. He had much love and appreciation for his physician of 28 years, Dr. James Wortman and his staff. Rodney will be remembered for his quite, gentle way and his sweet disposition. He believed in God, and led his children to Christ. He will be dearly missed by so many. A celebration of Rodney's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2009, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 South College Road, Wilmington, NC, by the Rev. Rick Williford. Interment with military honors will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends between the hours 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 Thursday, August 27, 2009, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel.
