Ronald Mason Hughes of Wilmington, NC, passed away on April 8, 2017, after a brief battle with cancer. He was 70 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonzie Mason Hughes and Magdalene Smith Hughes of Brunswick County. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Sullivan; daughters, Jessica Hughes and Wendy Lewis; son, Joseph Lewis; grandson, Cory Lisk; and all five of his special 4-legged friends at home. Ron retired from NC Department of Transportation as an engineer and then went on to be a successful entrepreneur. The family is honoring Ron’s request by not having any funeral service.
