Rosalie was my first friend in town when we moved to Center Moriches in 1985.  Jon and my son Sean were in Mrs. MacWhinnie's coop nursery school.   Matthew was an infant then, and Sarah may have only been a glimmer in Woody's eye.  It wasn't long before we embarked on what I could call "agricultural adventures".  By necessity,  and nowadays what might be called experiences for the kids, we took them to the creek by Waldbaum's looking for ferns (there weren't any good ones, so Rosalie gave me some from her mom's garden, which I still have, and could share if anyone wants).  We also dug up daylilies from your yard on Holiday Blvd cause Rosalie wanted to get rid of some of them.  I still have those too.  And we went down Jerusalem Hollow Rd to dig up wild Lupines, which never took to transplanting.  Apparently we were in need of free landscaping!  Then there were the strawberry and raspberry picking journeys with kids,  and jam making afterwards at my house with kids running around.  The craziest jam escapade was when we went to Dune Rd looking for beach plums.  None to be had, undeterred, we picked 5 gal of rose hips with the kids' help.  Lots of rose hip jam was made and everyone we knew got jam for Christmas.  Just this year Michael and I went to the same strawberry field with both kids and families and made jam again.  They loved renewing the memories.  Rosalie was always much more creative and talented than I was.  And of course, during those early days all the nursery school moms got together every month or so for SAC meetings.....Stress Anonymous Club.  Held in the evening at some local watering hole.  For Sarah's appearance,  we had a baby shower at my house.  That was way before cell phones, so I have no idea where those pictures are now.  The kids got older.....MYC and sailing, Jr Yacht Club dances.   Woody, you and Rosalie gave your family wonderful memories that you will all cherish even more now.  Rosalie lived a great life, and will be so missed.❤️

I have been distant from you all for a long time out in California, it was shocking and sad to hear of Rosalie’s passing. I think of myself still as a youngster (ha!) and will be keeping the same thoughts that Rosalie lives in cherished memories you all have of her happiest days with you. My best (old) memories of Rosalie when the kids were youngsters make me smile.

To my friend Rosalie and her family!  I’m so sorry, my friend!  Although I haven’t seen you since you moved to North Carolina I have many fond memories of you!  We had lots of fun times together through high school and after.  Rest in peace my dear friend!  

I’m so grateful to have so many wonderful memories with Rosalie in Jr High and a high School. 
It was the beginning for me to have wonderful conversations, dancing to Chicago at the amazing spaghetti parties Mr and Mrs Rozzo would lovingly host. 
The room was always full when Rosalie was around with laughter and being helpful and real so real❤️
I thought I was realistic in thinking I would see you again in some if your travels in the future.

Dear Rozzo and Woodward family , 
I was the  lucky one ,Ro was my first cousin ; our  Dads brothers . We had the opportunity growing up together , a crazy Italian clan .  During our later years Rosalie and i were able to reconnect . When Ro told me the news of her cancer , I knew God was calling her home soon . I would have traded my life for her,  just so she could have  continued living  with all  she had created with Woody ,her children and grandchildren . 
I know one day we will be greeted by Rosalies infectious smile and happy joyous laugh again. I know she will sitting with the rest of the Rozzo clan saving seats for all of us . Excited to tell us the news about  Heaven  asking ,  what  kept you so  long ?







I am very sad to hear of Rosalie’s passing. She was a funny kind loving person who made her family the first priority. I’m sure she will be missed by all and I can only pray that memories of her will carry you through this most difficult time.

I worked with Rosalie in the Office of the Registrar at UNCW for 3 years.  She was my mentor and friend.  Rosalie guided me through all of the ins and outs of the office and welcomed me to the staff.  She always had a smile and loads of patience.  My condolences to the family for your loss.  Rosalie was a very special person.

I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of Rosalie.  I first met her when she came to work at USAir.  We immediately became friends, we had children around the same age and had a lot in common.  She adored her children and was so proud of each of you.  She was thrilled to become a grandmother and I have no doubt she was a wonderful grandmother just like she was a mother.  When Rosalie moved to Wilmington we stayed in touch, not often but kept up which each other through Facebook.  She was a wonderful person and will be missed by all that knew her.  Sending love and prayers to the family.

Dave and I are heartbroken for you, Woody, and for your family’s loss of a wonderful woman. We are also deeply sorry to have lost a truly great friend.  Rosalie was my dearest friend and confidante. We are so glad to have had so many joyous times together which will never be forgotten. In our early days of our children growing up in Center Moriches your family was an integral part of our lives.
