Rose Marie Bishop

Born March 20, 1949, to Eloise Nichols Bishop and George William Bishop. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sister Sarah Bishop English and brother in law Warren Ray English, Sr.

Rose is survived by her son Travis Mintz (Kathy), granddaughters Krishna Mintz and Aubrey Mintz, sister Marjorie Bishop Campbell and brother Charles Albert Bishop. She leaves behind her special companion, Zoee, an 11 year old Highland Lynx cat.

A Wilmington native, she graduated from New Hanover High School class of 1967, and received her CNA from Cape Fear Community College. As a private sitter, she took fulfillment in caring and comforting others during their terminal illness. Between sitting jobs she also worked for Hamrick’s, Food Lion and Loomis Fargo.

More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters. From shopping, talking, eating, to looking at old pictures, she loved every minute with them. Rose had a knack for gardening and always surrounded her home with beautiful flowers and plants. When she could no longer do that, she enjoyed rocking on her front porch and feeding the squirrels and birds.

She had no limits when it came to birthday celebrations and Christmas. Those memories will stay with us forever. Her tradition of playing games and family dinners will live on in the ones she loved.
