She was born on May 17, 1921 in Barnesville, NC, the daughter of Gordon and Estella Britt.
A faithful member of Winter Park Baptist Church for 60 years, she was a winsome, effective Sunday School teacher whose biblical knowledge was a source of inspiration. For many years she served the Wilmington Baptist Association as director of the Women’s Missionary Union. She demonstrated a passion for teaching literacy and organizing missionary efforts. She also served as assistant director of the Young Women’s Association. More than anything, she loved Jesus, her husband, children, extended family and friends.

A celebration of her earthly life and homegoing will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery on Tuesday, April 24 at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Winter Park Baptist Church, 4700 Wrightsville Ave., Wilmington, NC 28403.
