

Former Chapel Hill, NC resident Scott Ellis Noell, 30, died Wednesday August 7th, 2013, at his home in Wilmington, North Carolina. Scott Noell, known in the Wilmington community as 'Scottie B.' and the 'Mayor of Downtown Wilmington', was born November 13th, 1982. Scott graduated from Chapel Hill High School in 2001, and from Cape Fear Technical Community College with an associate's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management in 2011. He is survived by his son Dominick Noell of Wilmington; parents Doug Noell and Deborah Davis-Noell of Chapel Hill; sister Katrina Noell of Chapel Hill; aunt and uncle, Darlene and David Deaton of Woodbridge, VA; first cousins Connie Deaton of Oklahoma City and Caitlyn Deaton of Ferrum, VA; and numerous members of his extended family and countless numbers of friends and acquaintances. Scott was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Mollie Ellis Davis and Arliss Alexander Davis, and his paternal grandparents Rainy Milton Noell and Beatrice Virginia Noell. A celebration of his life will be held at Fort Caswell, 100 Caswell Beach Rd, Oak Island, NC 28465, on August 11th at 2:00pm. A second celebration will be held at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 2016 Mt Carmel Church Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27517 on August 13th at 7:00pm. The dress is casual for both events. Scott was known as a devoted and loving father to his son, and an all around dedicated family man, son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend to so many. He will be missed by all and forgotten by none.
