Sharon Ann (Zinkham) Cox

Sharon Ann (Zinkham) Cox, 72, of Leland, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Sharon brought warmth, kindness, and faith to everyone around her. She cherished her husband, children, grandchildren, family, friends, neighbors, and her Bible study group. She found joy in simple moments — a cozy blanket, a kind gesture, providing gifts, baking sweet treats, & spending time with those she loved.

Sharon earned her degree from The University of Richmond, followed by a Master of Education from The University of Virginia. She utilized her education to help others throughout her career as a resume writer, career counselor, HR professional, elementary school teacher, and real estate agent, touching countless lives through her lifelong compassion and guidance.

She is survived by her husband, Don Cox; children, Catherine and Daniel (Sarah Jane); grandchildren, River and Forest; sister, Laura Miller (Paul); and brother, Scott Zinkham (Veronica).

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Coble Funeral at Greenlawn Memorial Park (1155 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, NC 28412) hosted by Elder Paul Miller.

• Burial will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens (306 Bradley Dr, Wilmington, NC 28409)
