Sharon Selsky Green

Born in Brooklyn on September 1, 1947, Sharon was the only child to Eva and Frank Selsky.  Sharon grew up in the Bronx and attended Hunter College.  She was a teacher by trade, but spent most of her career as a pharmacy technician, where she loved helping people. In 1964 she met her best friend and husband of 53 years, Frank Green.  They had two children, Jonathan and Heidi, who they raised in Yonkers, NY.  In 2003, after spending years vacationing in North Carolina, Sharon made her home by the beach in Sneads Ferry. 

Sharon, aka Mom, Grammy, Sharoot, was an incredible wife, mother, grammy and friend to everyone she met.  She loved getting family and friends together and had a gift for making everyone feel welcome.  Sharon loved to read, travel, cook, bake and spend time with her grandkids. She never missed an opportunity to attend a special event in her children’s or grandchildren’s lives or share how immensely proud she was of them all. 

Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Eva and Frank.  She is survived by her husband, Frank, her two children Jonathan (Jennifer) Green and Heidi (Adam) Green and her four grandchildren: Kevin, Eleanor, Olive, and Julian.

Sharon will be missed by everyone whose lives she touched.  A memorial service will be held at Andrews Mortuary in Hampstead NC, on Monday, April 4th at 11:00AM.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to the Novant Health Zimmer Cancer Institute, where Sharon received the best care.  Donations can be made through their website at www.nhrmc.org.
