Mrs. Covington was born July 3, 1936, the daughter of the late Millard & Gly Watts. Her loving husband Johnny Covington preceded Mrs. Covington in death. Mrs. Covington was also preceded in death by six siblings: Leonard (Flip) Watts, Elbert Watts, James Watts, Bobby Watts, Trixie Watts King and Clarice Watts Peterson. Prior to her decline in health, Mrs. Covington attended Pine Valley Church of God. Shelby loved her Lord, her family and many special friends.
Mrs. Covington is survived by her two sons: Mark Covington and Kevin Covington; one Granddaughter Kalen (Covington) Kennedy. Mrs. Covington was also survived by numerous Nieces and Nephews whom she loved dearly.
The family wishes to especially thank Liberty Commons for their exceptional care for Shelby.
A Funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m on Sunday, July 7th 2024 at Pine Valley Church of God, 3810 Shipyard Boulevard, Wilmington, NC by Rev. Larry Horrell. The family will receive friends and family after the service in the sanctuary.
