Shirley King Peterson

Shirley King Peterson, 69, of Wilmington, went peacefully to be with the Lord, on Sunday, April 14, 2013. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Family came first and above everything else in her life. She will be sadly missed by all who were lucky enough to know and love her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Letha G. and Eva P. King; sister, Christine A. Richards; daughter, Wendy P. Smith. She is survived by her son, Kirby G. Smith and wife Shellie of Wilmington, NC; granddaughters, Allison P. Smith, Olivia R. Leedham, and Constance H. Leedham all of Wilmington, NC; great-grandson, Brayden T. Rudkin-Smith; and sisters, Eva B. Canady of Wilmington, NC, R. Catherine Carter, of Harrells, NC, and Letha Mae Joye and husband Maurice of Wilmington, NC.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, Oleander Chapel. A funeral service will be Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, Oleander Chapel.

Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
