Shirley Watkins Pittman

Shirley Watkins Pittman, 69, of Leland, NC, died Sunday, December 11, 2011, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCare Center, Wilmington. She was born in Wilmington, NC, May 21, 1942, daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Watkins, Sr. and Elma Watkins Watkins. Her husband, Larry Roger Pittman and three brothers preceded her in death. Mrs. Pittman was employed at Deutch Relay for twelve years. She was a member of Olivet Baptist Church and a member of the Honey Bees. She and her husband were members of the Goldwing Motorcycle Club for ten years. She loved cruising, camping in the motorhome, reading, and cooking. Surviving are her children, Brian Pittman and wife Cindy of Leland, Pamela McKellar and husband Scott of Leland, and Travis Pittman and wife Jimmie of Winnabow; grandchildren, Heather Pittman, Brian Pittman Jr. Jeremy Stout, Dillon Stout, Maria McKellar, Danielle Pittman, and Travis Pittman, II; sister-in-law, Ruby Watkins; niece, Sherry Arnold, and nephew, Melvin Lee ""Buddy"" Watkins, Jr. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at Andrews Market Street Chapel with Pastor Kane McKenzie officiating. Pallbearers will be Brian Pittman, Travis Pittman, Scott McKellar, Melvin Watkins Jr., John Stout II and Jamie Gideon. Honorary pallbearers will be Reno Cuevas, Bob Briggs, Mike Arnold, Randall File, Jennings Bryant, Jeremy Stout, Dillon Stout, Travis Pittman II, and Brian Pittman Jr. Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens, 306 Bradley Drive, Wilmington, NC.
