Stephen Anthony Buck

Stephen Anthony Buck, 44, of Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away on August 15, 2026. Born on December 17, 1981, Stephen was born and raised in Wilmington and was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to so many.

Stephen was an active member of Peace Baptist Church in Wilmington, where his faith was an important part of his life. He had a true love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, surfing, and just about anything that allowed him to enjoy nature. But more than anything, Stephen loved spending time with his family and friends.

Stephen also known by many as “BucBuc” or just “Buck” had a personality that was impossible to forget. He had a wonderful sense of humor and could always make those around him laugh with his jokes, made-up songs, and unforgettable dance moves. He had a way of making people smile simply by being himself. To know Stephen was to love him.

Those who knew him will remember Stephen most for his kind heart. He was one of the kindest people you could ever meet and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He never hesitated to be there for the people he loved, and his generosity, laughter, and genuine spirit touched countless lives.

Stephen truly lived life as a “Simple Man,” his favorite song—a life centered around the people he loved the things that brought him joy, and the simple moments that became treasured memories.

Stephen leaves behind his beloved wife, Crystal Helton (Buck) of Hampstead; his children, Braxton Braun of Wilmington and Aubrey Buck of Wilmington; his father, Stephen “Steve” Buck, and stepmother, Tina Buck, of Willard; his sister, Tiffany MacNeil, of Leland; his brother, Dillon Ogdon, of Shelby, NC; and his stepsisters, Brittany Henderson, of Willard, and Megan Zaremba, of Jacksonville.

He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews, including Kaitlyn Johnson of Delco, whose daughter is his great-niece, Kinsley Klutz; Christian Johnson of Rocky Point, whose daughter is his great-niece, Saylor Johnson; and Ashlyn Johnson of Leland, whose daughters are his great-nieces, Oaklyn and Laklyn Mattingly.

Stephen also leaves behind many other beloved family members and countless friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Tamara P. Ogdon.

Although our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that Stephen is now in Heaven, reunited with his beloved mother once again. His laughter, his kindness, his silly songs and dance moves, and his loving spirit will live on in everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

Until we meet again, Stephen. You will be loved, missed, and remembered forever.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at Coble Funeral & Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
