Steven Everett Housand, a cherished husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and honorable veteran, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 67.
Born on November 8, 1958, in Baumholder, Germany, Steven was the beloved son of Everett and Frances Housand. Growing up with a deep sense of duty and patriotism, he went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army.
Steven was a man who found immense joy in the simple, beautiful pleasures of life. He was happiest when the backyard with food on the grill, cooking passionately. An avid gardener, he possessed a deep appreciation for nature and the patience to watch things grow. When he sought adventure, Steven loved nothing more than feeling the freedom of the open road while riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Above all, his family was his anchor and his greatest joy.
He is reunited in peace with his parents, Everett and Frances Housand; his sister, Karen; and his son-in-law, Brian Jackson.
Steven’s legacy of love, strength, and warmth lives on through his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Edith Housand, who was the love of his life. He leaves behind his loving daughter, Stephanie Jackson, and his son, Kevin Housand, both of Wilmington. His memory will be forever treasured by his three adored grandchildren, Brittany, Jordan, and Conner, who brought endless light to his life.
Steven will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever ride on in the hearts of those who loved him.
