Suzanne Kramer Fountain

She was born September 16, 1938, in Greenville, NC to the late Phillip and Blanche Staton Kramer.

Suzanne was a 1956 graduate of New Hanover High School where she was in the National Honor Society, ROTC – Company C Sponsor and Valentine Queen. The yearbook superlative for Suzanne was “The smile what wins, the spirit that achieves”. She attended UNC Women’s College in Greensboro, NC and received a degree in Stenography.

She met her husband, Donald Ray Fountain in junior high school and they became sweethearts and married on September 12, 1957. 

The family moved several times with Ray’s occupation and Suzanne was a loving and devoted mother to her children and very active in their activities. She created a scrap book for each of her children and presented it to them on their 50th birthday. 

Survivors include her loving husband, Donald Ray Fountain; sons, Donald Ray Fountain, Jr. (Karen), Christopher E. Fountain (Mary), Gregory A. Fountain (Stephanie) and daughter, Sheryl K. Fountain; grandchildren, Alex, Jeff (Jess), Andrew, Meagan and Will and siblings, Beryl Hillman (Dwight), Phillip Kramer (Meg) and Benny Kramer (Jan).

A funeral service will be held at 11:30am, Monday, August 7, 2023, at Andrews Market Street Chapel.

The family will receive visitors one hour prior, beginning at 10:30am.

Burial will follow the service at Oakdale Cemetery.
