Sylvia Talton Gonzalez

She was born on May 19, 1941 in Garner, NC, the daughter of the late Lonnie L. Nash and Mary Lucy Weaver Nash. Also remembered is her first husband, Jim A. Talton, Sr. (1989), second husband, Col. John C. Gonzalez (2021), and eleven siblings, all of who preceded her in death.

Surviving is her daughter, Robin D. Gause and husband Kevin of Wilmington, NC; her two sons, Jim A. Tatlon, Jr. and wife Margo of Leland, NC and Michael Lee Talton and wife Julia of Wilmington, NC; eleven grandchildren, Nash Burriss, Brent Burriss, Lauren Talton Henderson (Zach), Nicole Talton, Heather Talton, Kelsey Leigh Juarez (Frank), Morgan Talton Quesenberry (Scott), David Talton, Ryan Gause, Emma Gause and Jackson Gause; two great-grandchildren, Kennedy Margaret Henderson and Ella Rose Juarez.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Oleander Memorial Gardens followed immediately at 12:00 pm by a memorial service at Myrtle Grove Evangelical Presbyterian Church where Sylvia was a member. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Sylvia’s memory may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, the local Humane Society or to the animal rescue of your choice.
