Teresa Roberts Long

Christine Roberts Long, 81, of Wilmington, NC, was called home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at her residence. She was born on December 21, 1926, in Vance County, NC, the daughter to the late Emmett and Irene Currin Roberts. She was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, Charles Newton ""C.N."" Long. Mrs. Long was a faithful member of Sunset Park Baptist Church where she was active in Sunday School, Missions, and Bible Study. She retired as a vice president of Peoples Savings and Loan. Surviving are two sons, Ray H. Newman and wife Bobbie of Florence, SC, and Jim E. Long of Wilmington; two daughters, Hope Long Tolbert and Brenda Long Brewer, both of Wilmington; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister, Marguerite Eason of Wilmington, NC; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Monday, June 16, 2008 at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel by Rev. Chris Wroten. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3-5 on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Mrs. Long's name to Sunset Park Baptist Church, c/o Memorial Plaque, 231 Central Blvd., Wilmington, NC 28401.
