Theodore Roosevelt Parker

Theodore Roosevelt Parker, 80, of Wilmington, died December 4, 2014, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was born August 17, 1934, in Lenoir, NC, to the late Will parker and Katharine Hugguns Parker. Theodore retired from the US Navy and was a Vietnam veteran. He was also a member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Della Frances Parker; five brothers and four sisters. Survivors include his wife, Xuyen Parker; daughter, Daphne Parker Holloman and husband Ken of Faison, NC; stepson, Clint O'Neal of Fayetteville, NC; grandson, Kenny; three step-grandchildren, Dustin, Morgan and Jordan; two great-grandchildren, Addyson and Brayden; brother, William J. Parker of Casa Grande, AZ and sister, Shirley Jean Cole of Pink Hill, NC. A funeral service will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel with Rev. Paul Watters officiating. The family will receive visitors following the service. Burial will take place at 3pm, Sunday, December 7, 2014, in Hillcrest Cemetery in Newton Grove, NC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Myrtle Grove Baptist Church.
