Theodore Joseph Edward Thomas, 74, passed away late Monday night July 27, 2020.
He was born June 27, 1946 in Buffalo, NY to the late Joseph Thomas and Dolores Pawlicki.
He became a sergeant in the Air Force and was stationed at Davis Monthan AFB in Arizona. He always enjoyed music and played bass guitar in a few bands. Ted worked several years for IBM before going into business forming Ultimate Technology. He was also contracted with Wegman’s Supermarket chain and Chase-Pitkin.
He married his loving wife, Linda K. Thomas, Nov 20, 1982 in Scottsville, NY. Ted and Linda moved to Hampstead, NC after Ultimate Technology was sold in 1993 where he opened Pro-Lawn lawn and garden store. A few years later he created the Outrider weekly entertainment magazine for Wilmington, NC. Ted has spent the last 14 years working with Delivery Concepts as a logistics and business specialist. He was an integral part of the Delivery Concepts team whether he was helping complete the latest order to a “meals on wheels” account or working with a local catering company that had just purchased their first truck. He developed many friendships across the nation, whether through his business or family travels.
In addition to his accomplished business endeavors, Ted was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. His greatest joy came from spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved music, reading, and was a documentary fanatic. He also loved golf and watching the Yankees win.
Ted is survived by his wife, Linda; sister, Linda Patti; brother, Mark Thomas (Gloria); children, Steven (Kory), Valerie, Jordan (Shannon), Bradley (Ashton), and Matthew; and granddaughters, Lilliana, Brooke, and Olivia; and nieces, Elyse, Gabriella, Sophia, and Cecilia.
A funeral service has been scheduled for 11am, Saturday, August 1, 2020, at Hampstead United Methodist Church.
Floral arrangements are welcome. Donations can be made to the GoFundMe page for the Theodore Thomas Granddaughter’s Education Fund.
