Thomas "Bob" Sellers

Thomas "Bob" Sellers, 89, passed Monday, December 15, 2014, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice. He leaves his loving, devoted wife of 67 years, Margaret Watson Sellers; his nephews, Dewey Williams and wife Shirley, Raymond Williams, and niece Patricia Williams; his sister's children, Randi Williams, Kelly Mathis, Patricia Best and Mike Best. Bob was a beloved uncle and father / grandfather figure to many other nieces and nephews. Among them are Matt Williams, Helen Smith, Jeffrey Williams, Kent Williams, Rhonda Blackburn, Leigh Bettenhausen, Donna Bradley, Connie Williams, Ricky Williams, Ray Williams, and Matthew Williams. Born and raised in Wilmington, NC, son of the late Robert Lee Sellers, Sr. and Sadie Walker, he served in the US Merchant Marines. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Sellers; sister, Norma Best, and two special nephews, Richard "Mac" Williams and Jeff Williams. Bob was a faithful member of Cape Fear Presbyterian Church and served as a deacon for many years. The family will receive friends in the church's Jennings Hall on Thursday, December 18th from 10-11 am. The funeral service, officiated by his pastor, Rev. Jonathan Watson, will follow at 11 am in the sanctuary with interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family extends special thanks to Dr. Dean Karras and his kind, compassionate staff for their dedication to exceptional patient care.
