

He is predeceased by his parents, Thomas J. Haney and Jean Haney (née McCrossan); brother, Lawrence; grandchildren, Connor, Thomas and Isabel; and sister-in-law Rosella Haney.
Tom is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary, their six children; Thomas, Elizabeth, Megan, Michael, Judith, and Christopher; and eight grandchildren. He also leaves behind three brothers, Desmond, Francis (Carol), and Denis (Elizabeth).
Tom spent his first 65 years in Brooklyn, New York before retiring to Wilmington in 1994 with his wife Mary, Mary N. Haney (née McCarthy).
Tom attended school, married, and raised a family in his native New York. He is a graduate of Regis High School, Fordham University (B.S. Mathematics), and St. John’s University (LL.B. Law). Much of his professional life was spent at Consolidated Cigars and Gulf + Western. During his time in Wilmington, Tom volunteered at the Red Cross, the Cape Fear Guardian ad Litem, and the AARP.
A funeral mass will be held at 10am Friday, March 18, 2016 at Basilica Shrine of St. Mary.
