Ula Shaw Gore

Ula Shaw Gore went to be with her Lord peacefully on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 92 years old and while residing at Autumn Care Nursing Home in Wilmington, NC.

Born Ula Rowena Garner on March 14, 1931 to James Oscar and Dollie Lewis Garner, she was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Curry S. Shaw Sr. and their only child Curry S. Shaw Jr., as well as Archie D. Gore, her second husband.

Mrs. Ula was sweet, gentle, and quiet. She valued greatly an ordered environment and in earlier years kept her home immaculate. Family history and genealogy interested her and she conducted extensive research of both her family and the Gore family, recording this information in multiple large albums. She and Mr. Archie took lots of pictures and made many videos of their travels throughout the United States. When she moved to Autumn Care she enjoyed watching old TV western daily but more importantly, she honored her Lord by having quiet time each day and continuing to read her Bible regularly.

She was loved by her only surviving niece Susan Shaw Brundage, as well as both longtime and more recent friendships made while attending churches throughout her lifetime. Her dry wit and sweet smile will be greatly missed.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday July, 26, 2023 at 11:00 am at Coble Funeral and Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park Chapel with Rev. Roger Ormand officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pine Valley Baptist Church where she and Mr. Archie most recently attended.
