She was born in Bledsoe County, TN on February 11, 1934, daughter of the late Ralph Smith and Etta Gadd Smith.
Surviving is her husband of 64 years, James Albert McClure, Jr.; a daughter, Karan Smith and husband Dean of Wilmington; a son, Michael McClure of Wilmington; granddaughters, Molly and Sara; grandsons, Joshua and Jacob; two sisters, Monteen Davis and Nell Brown; and a niece, Harriett Parker and husband, Jenks, all of Chattanooga, TN.
Mrs. McClure was a very strong lady and worked to put her husband, Jim through college at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, “and she hasn’t worked a day since”. To those who knew her, she was a “rock”, and will be sorely missed by her family and many friends whose lives she touched along her way.
A private service will be held at a later time.
