Mrs. Viola Johnson Horrell, of Wilmington, NC, died on August 13, 2009, in Davis Health Care Center. She was born in Pender County, NC, on June 2, 1910, the daughter of the late Claude Robert Johnson and Mamie Malpass Johhnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Meeks Horrell, three sisters and three brothers. Mrs. Horrell was a member of Wrightsboro Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving are one son, Victor H. Horrell and wife Jean Mallard Horrell of New Bern, NC; two grandchildren, Victoria Jean Tyndall and Rebecca Lea McClay and three great-grandchildren, all of New Bern, NC. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, August 16, 2009, at Woodcock Family Cemetery, Atkinson, NC by Rev. Mike Lewis. Interment will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wrightsboro Baptist Church Building Fund, 2736 Castle Hayne Rd., Wilmington, NC 28401, or the Davis Health Care Center, 1011 Porters Neck Rd., Wilmington, NC 28411.
